Sitting Here
RCW
Sitting here, looking at a picture of you
Looking at a picture of you and him
And you look right
Man and woman, that’s right
Isn’t it?
But I want you to be wrong
I want you to be right with me
Woman and woman
Hand in hand
Walking through the moonlight
Sitting on a the bench and staring at the stars
I want you to be wrong
But you hold him so close
You hold him so tight against you
You are happy
A happiness I have not seen in a long time
My memory brings you sadness
I’m sorry, I am
You stand there so beautiful
Perfect in everyway
Unbelievably gorgeous
But your hand is around his waist
Not mine
And your face is touching his
Not mine
And that arm around your shoulder is
Not mine
You look right
You are with him
You are near him, together with him
How can I be right
You two seem so right
I want you to be wrong
I want to sit next to you
I want to lay my head on your shoulder
As we lie in the bus driving for hours
I want you to touch your hand to my leg
As we sit eating breakfast together
I want to kiss your neck as we stand hugging
Saying a long good bye
But you are standing with him
And you are strong with him
So brave, so proud
With him
And you are afraid with me
And you are in pain with me
So scared, so nervous
With me
You seem so right
I want you to be wrong
I want to walk with you early in the morning
I want to unify our souls in prayer
I want to caress your hair softly as your head lies in my lap
I want you to miss me
To want to be with me
But you aren’t wrong
You seem so right
I seem so wrong
I seem so out of place
I am in some distant land
So far away from your beauty
So far away from your love
But we are not right
Not now
We are wrong
You are right
The two of you are right
Standing there in your sleek purple dress
You are amazing
He stands holding you close
I want you to be wrong
I want to be right
I want our eyes to connect
To bring us closer
Like a gravitational pull
I want your arms to reach out to hold me
To pull me close
To want me and to hunger for me
But they hunger for only him
They want only him
I want you to be wrong
I want to be right
Only him
Why only him?
Why not me?
I want you to be wrong
I want to be right
As I sit here all alone
I know that you are with him
I know that you want him
To be with him
To hold him
Only him
And as I sit here all alone
I know that you don’t want me
I know that I am wrong
But that doesn’t make the feeling stop
That doesn’t make the hurt go away
We have shared some wonderful moments
Some of the best memories of my life
And I want to keep creating these
Every moment of my life
But you would have to be wrong
And you look so right
You are so right
With him
And so wrong
With me
I want you to be wrong
With him
I want you to be right
With me
Love conquers all
Except perhaps distance
The physical is a necessity
In a world that is so cold
You need someone to hold you
To say that you’re alright
And I would do anything to be there
To tell you sweet goodnight
But I am far away
In some unforgotten land
A place where demons play with me
Pretending to be friends
And you are in heaven
While I am drowning deep below
And you would do anything to save me
Except to touch him with that blow
Because when you hurt him
It carries on to you
And you can feel that pain
If he feels it too
And I want you to be wrong
I want you to feel my pain
I want you not to be able to bare
The things inside my head
Because if we were right
You would know what I am thinking
And you would stop this pain
You would make it go away
But we are not right
Forever not right
We are wrong
And you are right
He is right
